Dotnet is dead - Long live dotnet
I remember the first release of DotNet, its now a mature framework, but given what I have been told, the future is dotnet core.
This version of dotnet runs on phones, macs, Linux and more and will have as much or better support than the core framework.
Try dotnet core, you will be amazed
